HGTV stars Bryan and Sarah Baeumler are famous for showing the lengthy process of renovating a resort, Caerula Mar, in the Bahamas on the show “Renovation Island,” but they never had the chance to stay there as guests.
Sarah shared in a Instagram post on March 18 that she and Bryan were finally able to stay at their resort to mark a special anniversary for their passion project.
“Hey everyone, I wanted to share this special day with you,” Sarah said in a video. “Six years ago on March 26, we moved our family here to the Bahamas to start a life-changing and daunting project. We were incredibly scared, and we brought our four children with us.”
Bryan & Sarah Baeumler have never stayed at their resort
“It's been six years, and Bryan and I have never spent a night in one of the completed villas or hotel rooms,” Sarah revealed. “We always thought those were for the guests, and we had our own unrenovated villa for a long time. We never took advantage of the beautiful finished villas. So, since it's been six years, we decided to enjoy the villa and spend spring break with our kids to experience Caerula Mar.”
Sarah also mentioned that they might feel there are unfinished tasks or get ideas for changes at their resort after staying in the villa for a few days, but she assured fans she’d share her “honest opinion” at the end of their stay.
Fans expressed their excitement for the Baeumlers and shared their thoughts in Sarah’s comments. “I can’t believe it's been 6 years already! Your hotel is still on my bucket list!!” one fan wrote.
“Congratulations on the success of Caerula Mar Club. Loved following your journey.🌴🌺🌴🌺🌴,” another fan added.
“I LOVE this ❤️ can’t believe it took you 6 years to stay😉 Enjoy your time and I hope you and the family are all well ☀️🥂,” a third user commented.
Forbes included Caerula Mar in their ’10 Best Resorts in the Bahamas’ List
The Baeumlers have many things to celebrate during their stay at Caerula Mar, as their resort was listed as one of Forbes’ the “10 Best Resorts in the Bahamas” in October 2023, and was specifically named the “Best Beachfront Resort in The Bahamas” by the publication.
The Baeumlers celebrated the recognition in their Instagram stories , with Sarah writing, “After years of hard work, determination, and pure grit – we are proud of what this team has achieved. From a raw shell to a successful hospitality venture, we are honored to share these accomplishments with all of you. Thank you for being part of our journey xx ❤️.”
