EDWARDSVILLE — It's always hard for me to choose what to eat for lunch, but today it was easy. I decided to go to Grotto Pizza.
I called shortly after the restaurant opened at 11 a.m. and ordered a large pepperoni pizza to pick up at noon. I like simple pizza with a classic taste.
At noon, I went to their Edwardsville location. The dining area looked different from my last visit. They recently renovated it, making the restaurant cozy and inviting. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere.
Using the Visit Luzerne County Pizza Trail app, I used the coupon for a large pizza with one topping for $11.99. After picking up my pizza, it was time to eat.
This pizza was perfect. The crust was thin and crispy, staying firm as I lifted the slice. I don't like pizzas with too much sauce, but this one had just the right amount to satisfy me with its mild flavor. It wasn't too sweet or too tart, just like Goldilocks said, “just right.”
I enjoyed every bite, eating one slice, then two, three, and four.
Overall, I enjoyed my lunch from Grotto. They consistently offer excellent quality, which I appreciate in a restaurant.
Although I focused on pizza today, I can't skip mentioning the rest of their menu. One of my favorites is the Grotto Boli, their signature version of a Stromboli. They offer a variety of options so there's sure to be one with toppings you'll like.
They also have a full selection of dinner items including pasta, subs, and burgers, all at reasonable prices with many specials and coupons available. Grotto is a great choice even for budget-conscious diners.
My visit was only to the Edwardsville location, at 36 Gateway Center, but there are two others nearby. The first and original is Grotto Pizza & The Grand Slam Sports Bar, at 3445 Lakeside Drive, Harveys Lake, and the second is Grotto Pizza & Skybox Sports Bar, at 337 Wyoming Valley Mall, Wilkes-Barre. Whichever location you choose, you're sure to have a memorable meal.
Each location has its own events to attend, like trivia or live music. You can check online at www.grottopizzapa.com for a full list of events.
