Kayce Martin had an outstanding day at bat and on the pitcher's mound, striking out 11 batters and hitting two home runs in Wilkes-Barre Area’s 14-3 win over Nanticoke Area in six innings on Tuesday.
Martin earned the victory with a strong six-inning performance, allowing three runs on five hits. She was a central figure in the team's 14-hit day, driving in five runs with her two homers. Madalyn McGuinness had four hits, and Hope Burke drove in three runs.
Kelsey Clark had three hits as the leadoff hitter for Nanticoke.
BASEBALL
Wallenpaupack 10, Wyoming Area 7
Wallenpaupack took the lead for good with a four-run fifth inning in a victory over Wyoming Area. They trailed 5-3 before scoring four runs in the fifth inning and adding three more in the seventh.
Peyton Toth led Wallenpaupack with three RBIs. Brady Noone hit a triple for Wyoming Area, which had eight hits from eight different players.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Nanticoke Area 3, Valley View 0
The Trojans dominated Valley View, winning with set scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-21.
Brady Rushton and Ethan Yendrzeiwski each contributed five kills, with Rushton also providing 19 assists. Zachary Zubritski had four kills and five aces for the Trojans.

Misericordia 6, Swarthmore 5
Connor Maryniak and Jason Sanfilippo both hit home runs, and Garrett McIlhenney had two extra-base hits and two RBIs for the Cougars.
Max Oliver pitched five innings to earn the win, with relief from Aidan Paduck and Matt Lanzendorfer in the final two innings.
SOFTBALL
Misericordia achieved a clean sweep
The Cougars lost the first game 14-6 before falling in a 3-2 game in the second match. Gianna Russo had two hits in the opener, and Mackenzie Fizer drove in two runs.
Bridget Doherty had two hits in the second game.
MEN’S LACROSSE
Misericordia 19, Neumann 6
Jared Pelliccione and Connor Bevan combined for 18 points to lead the Misericordia University men’s lacrosse team to a win over Neumann.
At one point, the Cougars scored 14 consecutive goals to extend their lead. Pelliccione scored five goals and provided five assists, while Bevan added five goals and three assists.

Stockton pulled away from the Cougars with a seven-goal fourth quarter.
Genevieve Montanye led the Cougars with two goals and an assist.
