The Split Pot Lottery will select one fortunate winner.
People have time until midnight on Thursday to buy a ticket for a chance to win nearly $1 million in the province-wide fundraiser.
The goal of the initiative is to help hospitals across Ontario, including Guelph General.
The lottery, which is breaking records, is approaching $1 million after previously surpassing $500,000 in February. In the fall, 13 grand prize winners received over $600,000. was previously more than $500,000 in February. In the fall, more than $600,000 was awarded to 13 grand prize winners.
One winner out of 13 will take 60 percent of the prize, and the rest will be divided among 12 other recipients.
The money from each ticket sale will be given to a hospital foundation chosen by the buyer.
