A woman was brought to a medical facility after being attacked in downtown Kitchener on Monday afternoon, as per Waterloo regional police.
They mention officers were sent to the location near Water and Duke streets after several people reported a stabbing shortly after 1 p.m.
They discovered a 30-year-old woman who had been stabbed. Paramedics transported her to an out-of-town medical facility for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Another woman, who is also 30 years old, was taken into custody and is facing a number of charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of suspected fentanyl.
Police say investigators believe the victim and accused are acquainted but did not give further details of the relationship.
