The trailer for “Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver” is almost here. And a new trailer, which you can view above, presents what we can anticipate from the eagerly awaited follow-up.
If you didn't see the first “Rebel Moon,” named “A Child of Fire,” then you missed Sofia Boutella as Kora, a young woman who has abandoned her warrior lifestyle but is compelled to battle when an evil galactic empire menaces her small rural planet.
Kora journeys through the universe in an effort to enlist fighters. There’s Djimon Hounsou as a struggling gladiator, Doona Bae as a sword-wielding cyborg, Staz Nair as an individual with a unique connection to animals, and so on. Once she gathers everyone, they believe they have thwarted the malevolent forces of darkness… but as the film concludes and she returns to her serene valley, it is evident that not only is the villainous Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein) still alive, but they’re targeting Kora and her people next.
This new trailer appears to fulfill the promise of the initial film. Kora and the team will unite and train the peaceful inhabitants of her planet, and there will be a multitude of action. Even Jimmy, the robot voiced by Anthony Hopkins, will abandon his pacifist ways to eliminate a group of villains.
In addition to “Rebel Moon — Part Two,” Snyder is also preparing extended director’s cuts of both films, which Snyder says will add up to approximately six hours. (Naturally, these will be released as the PG-13 versions.) There are also planned sequels and spin-offs, but we haven’t heard much about those so they might have fallen by the wayside. (Former Netflix exec Scott Stuber was a huge champion and it’s uncertain if his departure will endanger the streamer’s relationship with Snyder.) after “Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver” will be available on Netflix on April 19.
The follow-up to last year’s science fiction extravaganza arrives on Netflix in April
