Abba Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State, distributed supplies to patients in government hospitals across the state on Monday.
Halilu Dantiye, the state Commissioner for Information, revealed in a press statement by the Director, Special Duties, Sania Abba Ypla, that 2,213 (10kg) bags of rice and 2,213 (10kg) sacks of maize were given to patients in General and Cottage Hospitals, Pediatric and Specialist Hospitals across the state.
Dantiye, who supervised the distribution of the food items to each patient admitted at the Infectious Disease Hospital and Abubakar Imam Urology Centre on behalf of the governor, said the initiative was aimed at providing essential support to those in need during these difficult times.
The commissioner stated that in recognition of the importance of ensuring the welfare of all citizens, Yusuf’s administration prioritised the initiative that directly impact the lives of people in the state, particularly those with health challenges.
The commissioner expressed happiness over the joy of the patients, who benefited from the governor’s gesture and reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations, especially during illness.
“We are committed to providing assistance wherever it is needed most. Our efforts today represent a collective commitment to standing behind our fellow citizens in support during their times of need. By providing essential food items to hospital patients, we aim to alleviate some of the burdens they face and offer them a measure of comfort,” Dantiye said.
