Melissa Peterman is going to work with Reba McEntire again in a new NBC comedy pilot.
The official description of the pilot is this: “Reba inherits her father’s restaurant and is not happy to find out that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew about.”
In the pilot, Peterman will portray Gabby, the tavern’s bartender, who is a bit needy and dramatic and really wants to be sisters with Bobbie (McEntire).
Belissa Escobedo will play Isabella, Bobbie’s half-sister, who is an enthusiastic 20-something with a psychology background and a love for analyzing people. She is excited to start working at the tavern and has plenty of “great” ideas for improving it, according to the official description.
The pilot is being made by Universal Television, a part of Universal Studio Group, with Kevin Abbott as the writer.
More information to be announced later.
Belissa Escobedo is also joining the cast of the restaurant-based sitcom.
