Fidelity Bank Plc has given out more than 3,000 food items to needy families and disadvantaged households in Gusau, Zamfara State.
The bank mentioned in a statement on Monday that the action was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program designed to help vulnerable individuals and minimize the impact of hunger in society.
During the event, Muhammad Ahijo, the bank’s Regional Head for North West 2, stated, “The Fidelity Food Bank Initiative aims to ease the suffering faced by many due to current economic challenges in the country.
“At Fidelity Bank, we understand the significance of supporting and empowering communities to thrive, and we believe that by investing in the well-being of the communities where we operate, we contribute to the formation of a better society for all.
“We strongly believe that by addressing the root causes of poverty and reducing hunger, we can have a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need. As such, Fidelity Bank has given 3,000 food packs to vulnerable families in the state, to help them cope during these difficult times.”
Commending the Fidelity Bank initiative, Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Mukhtar Lugga, said, “We appreciate the kind gesture from Fidelity Bank in providing assistance to vulnerable households and less privileged families in our community. This comes at a time when people cannot afford a meal before and during the holy month of Ramadan”.
The Accountant General of Zamfara State, Alhaji Ali-Akilu Muhammad, expressed gratitude to Fidelity Bank for its generosity and urged other banks operating in the state to follow Fidelity Bank's example by providing relief to the less privileged families in the state.
