In Canada, St. Patrick's Day festivities increased on Sunday, including the big annual parade in Montreal.
Large crowds of people dressed in green filled the downtown streets to celebrate Ireland's patron saint and Irish culture.
Montreal mayor Valérie Plante, along with MP Marc Miller, MNAs Ian Lafrenière, Greg Kelley, and others, attended the event.

While St. Patrick’s Day falls on March 17th, many places celebrated on other days this year.
A significant parade also occurred in downtown Toronto on Sunday.
The largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the United States, including one in New York City, took place on Saturday.

The annual march through Manhattan has been a tradition since 1762 and is one of the world’s largest Irish heritage events.
Meanwhile, in Canada, residents of Newfoundland and Labrador will have a public holiday on Monday to mark the occasion.
