“Harry Potter” series actress Miriam Margolyes told News Corp Australia’s News.com.au that she declined an offer from Marvel to act in a show about witches, possibly the “WandaVision” spinoff miniseries “Agatha,” due to the location and her reluctance to play magical characters again.
In a previous interview, the actress revealed that she turned down the show because it required her to film in Georgia for four months, a place she does not like. She also mentioned negotiating for a higher payment, but ultimately decided against the project.
Margolyes jokingly admitted that her refusal was mainly due to her own greed.
The show, known by various names including “House of Harkness,” “Coven of Chaos” and “Darkhold Diaries” before settling on “Agatha,” is set to be released in September with Kathryn Hahn in the lead role.
In the same interview, Margolyes spoke about her negative experience working with Steven Martin, whom she described as very focused on getting the comedic timing right, but at the expense of including his co-stars in the process.
In her words, Margolyes found Martin to be unfriendly.
She also expressed her displeasure with Mick Jagger, whom she described as self-important and tiresome due to his relationship with her colleague Sophie Dahl during their time working together.
