Larry H. Parker, the lawyer well-known to Angelenos for his long-running 'we'll fight for you' ads, has died at the age of 75.
His partner in the law firm, Ron Beck, stated TMZ on Friday that the founder and lead partner of the company had passed away, but did not give further details. Parker’s daughter-in-law also confirmed the news to the outlet.
In his widely seen TV advertisements and various billboards across the city, Parker promised to advocate for his clients in cases involving car accidents, dog attacks, serious injury, wrongful death, and a variety of other situations.
He also enlisted local celebrities, such as former Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda, to appear in his commercials.
“They’ll fight for you,” said the sports legend in a 2016 advertisement in which he compared his long career and success rate with Parker.
The lawyer established his law practice in Long Beach in 1974 and commercials from as far back as the ’80s can still be found on YouTube.
His ads were so prevalent on L.A. TV that in the 1990s, Phil Hartman portrayed a character similar to Parker, a personal injury lawyer, on “Saturday Night Live,” encouraging even those not involved in accidents to sue for “bystander trauma.”
Additionally, when Bob Odenkirk debuted as ethically questionable attorney Saul Goodman on “Breaking Bad” in 2012, his character was referred to as “the Larry H. Parker of Albuquerque” by IGN.
In accordance with the Law Offices of Larry H. Parker official website, they are the leading automobile accident law firm in Southern California and have obtained $2 billion in compensation over five decades of practice, with a 95% success rate.
According to the website, the firm has over 150 attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, as well as offices in California cities ranging from Alhambra to Woodland Hills.
