Nigeria’s arm wrestling team kept doing very well at the 13th African Games in Ghana, ending with 13 medals as the competition ended.
Day two of the Accra 2023 Arm Wrestling Championships saw Nigerian athletes winning more, and showing that they are very good across different weight categories.
Sarah Matthew led the way by winning gold in the tough 70kg category, while Blessing Ogungbure got silver, adding to Nigeria’s medals.
Olubisi Oyewusi also won gold in the women’s +80kg right-hand category, making Nigeria even stronger in African arm wrestling.
Winifred Ndidi won the silver medal in the women’s 80kg right-hand category, showing that Nigeria has many talented arm wrestlers.
Chika Blessing got a bronze in the 55kg women’s right-hand category and Idowu Abiodu Yunusa got a bronze in the men’s 65kg right-hand event, adding to Nigeria’s bronze medals.
Samuel Nneka got a bronze in the men’s 85kg right-hand category, making Nigeria even more powerful in African arm wrestling, and ending a great campaign for the Nigerian arm wrestling team.
With four gold, two silver, and seven bronze medals in their possession, the Nigerian arm wrestlers have left a strong impression on the Accra 2023 Arm Wrestling Championships, showing their skill and determination on the continental stage.
