The political momentum appears to be moving in President Biden's direction as Trump struggles with Nikki Haley voters.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll discovered:
In a recent one-week poll by Reuters/Ipsos that closed on Wednesday, 39% of registered voters said they would vote for Biden and 38% for Trump. Biden's lead fell within the poll's 1.8 percentage point margin of error.
A significant number of voters are still undecided, with 11% considering other candidates, 5% not planning to vote, and 7% unsure or unwilling to respond.
…
Although Trump had a slight lead among all respondents, Biden's lead among registered voters was important as registered voters are more likely to participate in November. In the 2020 presidential election, only two-thirds of eligible voters cast their vote, leading to Biden's victory over Trump.
It's important not to rely heavily on any single poll, but the Reuters poll involved nearly 5,000 respondents and was conducted over a week, not hastily with a small sample.
The poll likely provides a more realistic snapshot of the current situation. President Biden holds a slight advantage, with a large number of undecided voters, and Trump faces challenges with Nikki Haley voters.
Only 37% of Haley voters indicated they would vote for Trump, while 16% would vote for Biden. The remaining Republican voters either suggested they wouldn't vote or would choose another candidate.
Biden isn't in as much trouble as some other polls suggest. At this stage, while the majority of voters aren't paying attention, the incumbent has a slight edge with the most likely voters.
The current president has an advantage in fundraising, no criminal charges against him, and more potential for upside than Trump.
It's not hard to see more voters moving toward President Biden as Trump continues to lean towards the extreme right.
Spring has not yet arrived in this election year, but the current president has a visible path to a second term.

Biden is challenging Trump and his falsehoods while demonstrating to the American people what he has accomplished and what is at stake in 2024.
