A teenager from Manitoba has been charged with over seven offences after being arrested by the RCMP. property crime investigation.
The Swan River detachment called the RCMP to report a break-in at the Minitonas arena in Man. The police stated that the incident took place overnight and resulted in the theft of power tools and other items.
While making an arrest for unrelated property crimes in the area, the police visited a home in the community later that day and saw power tools and other items connected to the arena break-in.
A 17-year-old was detained, and the police were able to link him to other purported break-ins and property crimes in the area.
The next day, while the teen was being moved from RCMP custody, he attempted to escape but was immediately apprehended by the police. His effort resulted in a charge of escaping lawful custody. He is also accused of possessing property obtained through crime, breaking and entering, two counts of mischief, and two counts of theft.
RCMP are still investigating.
