Investigators for murder were sent to the University of British Columbia Endowment Lands on Thursday where a woman was reported to have been killed.
The Integrated Investigation Team (IHIT) provided information about the incident. Homicide The RCMP University Detachment called the Integrated Investigation Team (IHIT) in response to a report about a woman in need of medical assistance around 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
At a home in the Lelem Village area on Shortcut Road, officers discovered the woman with injuries that were ultimately fatal.
Police stated in a press release that two individuals, a man and a woman, were taken into custody at the scene in connection with the killing.
“The Integrated Investigation Team (IHIT) is now in charge of the inquiry and is collaborating closely with the University Detachment, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS),” it was announced.
Authorities are still trying to determine the identity of the victim, whom they believe was “associated to the residence.”
