Terrorists attacked Banono Angwaku community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Tuesday night, resulting in the death of one person, Christopher Zamani, the injury of another person, and the abduction of eight people.
The eight people taken were identified as Kauna Fidelis, Tina Bulus, Alice Joshua, Sarah Micah, Janet Amos, Martha Peter, Rita Joefrey, and Favour Ado.
Dauda Manyu, a resident of the LG, confirmed the incident to PUNCH Online, saying the terrorists also stole money, two motorcycles, food items, and other valuables.
He mentioned that they attacked the village at around 10 p.m.
The attack occurred just 48 hours after 61 villagers were abducted in the Buda community of the same Kajuru Local Government Area.
Kajuru and Chikun LGs have recently become hotspots for kidnapping, causing tension in the state.
Dauda clarified that there has been no communication with the 61 locals abducted on Sunday night in the Buda community.
He expressed, “The only way to stop this kidnapping spree is for the government to involve the local hunters and work with the military to search our forest. There is a need to monitor cattle routes 24 hours a day because that’s where they travel.
“The people are facing difficult times, especially with the tough economy in the country. These terrorist activities present major challenges to our farmers, making it impossible for them to farm peacefully in the upcoming rainy season.
“How can we overcome the hunger that has affected our country? The government and the military need to be honest and find ways to address these challenges immediately.
