Luzerne County's new southern annex in Hazleton City Hall will have an official opening day event on March 21, according to county Manager Romilda Crocamo.
Originally, the county offices for recorder of deeds, register of wills, prothonotary (civil court records/filings), clerk of courts (criminal court records/filings), treasurers, sheriffs, assessors and the county manager/administration will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 40 N. Church St.
They will release a list of available services and office hours at the annex next week. The specific services and office hours at the annex will be published by next week on luzernecounty.org..
The opening day event is scheduled for 1 p.m. on March 21.
The city council recently approved a new lease for the southern annex as the county court no longer needs space in the city hall. The court plans to establish a magisterial central court in the Hazleton area but is looking for a larger location to better accommodate its services, according to Crocamo.
The lease for the city hall will cost $3,530 per month, or $42,360 per year, until the end of 2025, starting upon occupancy.
