Some unidentified hoodlums have attacked the office of the Anambra State Vigilante in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state.
The hoodlums, in large numbers, reportedly arrived at the premises around 7am on Thursday and set fire to an unidentified middle-aged man who was in a vehicle owned by the AVG operatives.
The details of the incident were still unclear and the reason for the attack has not been fully determined yet.
A video circulating on social media also confirmed the incident, showing the burning vehicle and a voice asking for the state fire service.
When asked about the incident, the state police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the attack but said that full details were not available yet.
Ikenga stated, “Yes, the attack took place but the full details are not available yet. Our men are on the scene to bring normalcy to the area. I will call you back please.”
