Public safety has been a prominent concern for people in British Columbia recently, with various community gatherings happening across the province.
In the attempt to deal with these worries, B.C. Premier David Eby and B.C. Attorney General Niki Sharma will be making an announcement.
Global News will stream the announcement live, starting at 1 p.m. Thursday.
The two are expected to introduce new laws aimed at “aiding in the protection of people” in the province, according to the B.C. government.
Residents across the province have been expressing concerns about repeat offenders, lack of justice and accountability, sexual offenders, shootings, and property crimes.
