A 42-year-old woman who is said to have fallen asleep in the bathtub with her son, resulting in the death of the one-year-old, was given permission to leave prison on Wednesday.
Melanie O’Soup was accused of causing death by being criminally neglectful and will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court again on April 4.
Authorities were summoned to the 100 block of Avenue T South on Saturday, where they discovered the deceased baby.
As a condition of O’Soup’s release, she is not allowed to drink alcohol or use cannabis.
She is also prohibited from having contact with individuals under the age of 14, apart from her own children.
