The Kwara Police Command has arrested three individuals in connection with the dismembered body of a tricycle driver found in an unoccupied building in Oko-Olowo area of Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.
The body of Musibau Aliu, a tricycle driver who had been reported missing by his family since last Friday, was discovered in an uncompleted building on Sunday, according to a source.
According to PUNCH Online, Musibau’s head, two wrists, private part and buttocks had been severed from his body when the corpse was found on Tuesday after a search by the family.
The victim operated his tricycle on the Alore/Banni route in Ilorin West Local Government Area.
The owner of the building where Musbau’s body was found reported the matter at the Nigeria Police station, Oloje in Ilorin West local government area while coming to effect repairs in the building, as per a source.
Mallam Gafari Imam, the chairman of the tricycle park at Alore/Isale-Banni, Ilorin, confirmed the incident and stated that the family and colleagues reported him missing since 6:00 pm on Friday.
The chairman also mentioned holding a prayer for Allah to expose the perpetrator of this act as soon as possible, expressing his shock at the incident.
The police have detained the owner of the building and one of the deceased’s friends, as per Gafar.
The spokesperson for the state Police Command, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident and mentioned the arrest of three suspects.
The command received information about the discovery of a headless corpse in an uncompleted building along Okolowo Expressway on March 10th, 2024. The deceased was later identified as Musibau Aliu, the Chairman of the Tricycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria, Idiose Alore, Ilorin.
Following swift investigation, the Police arrested three suspects: Abdullahi Ibrahim from Medina Area, Ilorin; Ismaila Ajirerin from Akata Compound, Alore, Ilorin; and Adeola Adeosun from Omo Compound, Eruda, Ilorin.
The police assured that they are committed to thoroughly pursuing the perpetrators of the crime and that the investigation is ongoing to ensure justice.
In another incident, the command also arrested three suspects who allegedly robbed a farmer at gunpoint while he was checking his traps in Oko-Erin area.
The victim was robbed of his Infinix Note 11 mobile phone valued at #150,000:00 at gunpoint by the suspects while attending to his traps in the farm, as per Ejire-Adeyemi.
The first suspect was caught quickly by our hardworking officers after the incident. Then, the investigation led to finding and arresting two more suspects. Also, a Cut-to-Size single-barrel gun, believed to have been used during the operation, was found with one of the suspects.
John Ndubusi Nbakogu, Toheeb Suleiman, and Bolakale Quadir, also known as Adaka, have been identified as the suspects responsible for the terrible act against the complainant.
She mentioned that the suspects will be brought to court for prosecution for their involvement in the crime.
