The times and locations were arranged for Friday’s PIAA basketball state quarterfinals games featuring the Holy Redeemer girls and MMI Prep boys.
Holy Redeemer (23-5), the champion of District 2, will compete against Loyalsock (26-3), the second seed from District 4, at 7:30 p.m. at Hazleton Area High School in a Class 3A quarterfinal.
MMI Prep (16-10), the champion of District 2 and D2/11 subregional second seed, will take on Linville Hill (22-1), the champion of District 3, at 6 p.m. at Martz Hall in Pottsville in a Class A quarterfinal.
Both games are part of doubleheaders.
Muncy, the champion of District 4, and Minersville, the champion of District 11, will compete in a Class 2A girls quarterfinal at 6 p.m. before Redeemer vs. Loyalsock. The MMI Prep vs. Linville Hill game will be followed by a Class 3A girls quarterfinal between Hughesville, the champion of District 4, and Lancaster Catholic, the champion of District 3.
Two teams from Lackawanna League will participate in a doubleheader at Bethlehem Liberty High School on Friday. Abington Heights (26-0), the champion of District 2, will face Imhotep Charter (26-3), the champion of District 12, at 6 p.m. in a Class 5A quarterfinal. Scranton Prep (18-9), the champion of District 2, will face Neumann-Goretti (24-3), the champion of District 12, at 7:30 p.m. in a Class 4A quarterfinal.
