Republicans and Trump will attempt to twist the dismissal of charges concerning trying to get public officials to break their promise, but Trump still faces charges of racketeering in Georgia.
CNN reported:
The judge in this case, Scott McAfee, has decided to dismiss six of the 41 counts in this indictment. However, the most important count, the racketeering charge, remains valid. In the short term, the charges related to solicitation of the violation of an oath of office are no longer applicable. The judge ruled that the district attorney’s office did not provide enough details about what part of the oath the defendants tried to get the public officials to violate, calling it a fatal error.

Legal expert Norm Eisen noted that McAfee’s decision indicates that the judge is not going to disqualify DA Willis:
BREAKING: in somewhat of an indication that Judge McAfee will NOT disqualify Willis, he’s refusing to throw out key elements of the RICO charge although he is tossing a few of the later counts against a few of the defendants for lack of specificity (1/x) pic.twitter.com/Vr84iedqOp

Trump and MAGA are going to make a big deal out of this dismissal, but the truth is that these charges were less significant. The major charges against Trump are related to RICO. If the case lacked merit, the judge would have taken the opportunity to dismiss the charges against Trump.
McAfee has chosen not to do so, indicating that Donald Trump will likely face RICO charges in Georgia at some point.
