From the mind of “Arthur” creator Marc Brown comes a brand-new animated kids' series called “Hop,” which will focus on the significance of accepting kindness, tolerance, and collaboration. The show for preschoolers will debut on Max on April 4 in the United States.
“I am extremely thrilled to finally reveal ‘Hop’ on April 4th on Max,” Brown expressed in a statement. “I believe we’ve made a safe, welcoming show that will urge our viewers to comprehend and value individuals who are different from them, and to inspire children to behave with patience and kindness. This show is a labor of love, and I hope it brings joy and inspiration to children and families everywhere.”
The show was created by Brown, along with fellow “Arthur” veterans Peter K. Hirsch and Tolon Brown. It’s made by Epic Story Media and is animated by Loomi Animation. The series will showcase characters who are all dealing with some type of disability, “helping kids relate to, and better understand, others — challenges that are often reflected in the show.”
Here’s Max’s full summary of the show:
“Hop” follows a diverse group of best friends whose amusing escapades teach young children to accept their own, and others’, uniqueness. Headed by Hop, an eager, understanding frog with one leg shorter than the other, he and his eccentric friends address relatable challenges with a good amount of laughter, silliness, and adventure. Taking place in the aspirational community of Fair Village, every episode is based in emotional reality but ventures into the realm of fantasy, inhabited by dragons, trolls, and talking banjos. With a gentle blend of humor and warmth, our heroes assure to captivate audiences with delightful journeys filled with friendship, important life lessons, and endless possibilities.
“Collaborating with Marc, Peter, and Tolon has been a complete delight. Their dedication to inclusive storytelling and their talent in guiding our entire creative team has been inspiring for everyone. I am particularly proud of the genuine casting and the diverse writers and creative team we assembled for this series,” Ken Faier, founder of Epic Story Media, stated. “Our objective has always been to create outstanding content for kids with the world’s finest creators. It’s a wonderful accomplishment and we are excited to be collaborating with the team at Max and Warner Bros. Discovery. More announcements from around the world to come!”
