City officials in Saskatoon are cautioning individuals against walking on big heaps of snow after a recent storm in the city.
The city explains that snow piles often contain weak areas or pockets of air where individuals could sink, and stepping on them may cause the piles to collapse, particularly during the thaw.
The city alerts that individuals trapped underneath snow heaps can be suffocated. It also cautions children that while snow piles may appear to be a fun playground, it is easy to slip and end up in the path of a moving vehicle.
