Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) attempted to address her State of the Union rebuttal disaster on Sunday, but it was not successful.
Here is how Britt explained her misleading sex trafficking story on Fox News Sunday:
BREAM: So to clarify, the story that you shared did not occur during the Biden administration, with that specific individual?
BRITT: I very clearly mentioned speaking to a woman who recounted being trafficked at the age of 12. I did not refer to her as a teenager or a young woman, but as a woman who was trafficked at 12. She is an advocate for victims' rights, exposing the actions of drug cartels and their exploitation of women. It is repugnant. I hope shedding light on this issue will lead to action being taken against human trafficking. That's what the media should actually cover.

Senator Britt deliberately attempted to deceive the American people with her story and was discovered.
Britt’s reaction to being caught is to blame the American people for misunderstanding her story, criticize the media, and then assert that she did not lie.
However, she did lie. Britt implied that the sex trafficking incident she described occurred during the Biden administration, and linked her account to comments about Biden's policies.
Britt Senator Britt needs to acknowledge that she attempted to deceive the American people and was caught.
It is time for the falsehoods to cease, as Senator Britt’s efforts to defend her story are only exacerbating the situation, and she is not aiding herself or the Republican Party.
