Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) gave a strong argument to his fellow progressives for why they should vote for President Joe Biden.
Sen. Sanders was asked if he could, in good conscience, ask his supporters to vote for President Biden.
Sanders said, “Well, the difference that I think President Biden emphasized in the State of the Union address. If you believe in climate change, you should vote for President Biden. If you believe in women's right to control their own bodies, you should vote for President Biden. If you think that during a time of significant income and wealth inequality, we shouldn't give trillions of dollars in tax breaks to the 1%, you should vote for Biden. If you want to lower the cost of prescription drugs, you should vote for Biden. If you believe in democracy and involving people in the process, instead of preventing people from voting, you must vote for Biden.”
When asked about the Gaza issue, Sanders said, “I am saying we have to address it, not ignore it. The fight continues to change Biden’s policy in Gaza. But the difference between Biden and Trump is huge. Trump's election would be a catastrophe for this country. In my view, we need to unite, reelect Biden, but also demand a progressive agenda, where there's an economy that benefits everyone, not just a few.”

The most effective way for progressives to achieve the policy changes they seek is to advocate for Joe Biden. Not supporting Biden means choosing Trump, which would be a disaster for progressives and the entire country.
Progressives currently have a voice in the decision-making process with Biden as president, but that voice will disappear if Donald Trump wins in 2024.
Biden has assisted progressives in making substantial strides on their agenda, and the administration’s stance on Gaza is shifting, so it could be argued that progressives are influencing the policy on Gaza.
Progressives would undo years of advancement if they fail to support Biden and Trump wins the election.
Bernie Sanders was correct in laying out why progressives should ensure that Joe Biden wins a second term.
