A 41-year-old man has passed away after a passenger train struck him on Saturday evening near the community of Wellington, N.S.
In a Sunday morning release, police said that the Lower Sackville RCMP and emergency services arrived at around 6:23 p.m. after receiving a report of a person being hit by an eastbound passenger train near Highway 2.

“Officers found a 41-year-old man from Fletchers Lake who was declared dead at the scene,” police said in a statement.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this difficult time.”
Police also mentioned that an investigation is ongoing and is being aided by the medical examiner service.
