Forward Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs won't be playing in tonight’s game against the Montreal Canadiens because of a lower-body injury.
Marner, 26, has scored 25 goals and earned 76 points in 62 games this season.
Because Marner is not playing, William Nylander is expected to play with Auston Matthews against the Habs.
The game is happening the day after the NHL trade deadline.
The Canadiens traded goaltender Jake Allen to the New Jersey Devils while the Leafs added Connor Dewar to their blue line corps from the Minnesota Wild.
The Leafs are currently in third place in the Atlantic Division and seem to be headed for a playoff matchup with the Boston Bruins, who defeated Toronto twice this week.
