Parents have been encouraged to provide their young daughters with good and proper upbringing so that they can live uniquely and serve as an inspiration to the world.
During a visit to female students of Top Teez Academy, Ojodu Abiodun, in Lagos State, a group called EventDiary Lifestyle stressed the importance of including young girls in school as part of a program to celebrate International Women’s Day.
The group explained that building a strong nation often starts with including and properly training girls by their parents.
The Convener of the group, Princess Adeola Shittu, advised parents to invest in their children, not waiting for government intervention, and to ensure that girls receive proper training and understand the way of life.
She mentioned that in Ondo State, there were annual International Women’s Day events, and she was inspired to focus on young girls who are often overlooked during such celebrations.
She aimed to inspire and motivate the young girls to understand the importance of staying focused and determined in life.
She also wanted the girls to recognize their worth and importance and be able to share their own stories as they grow into women.
She also expressed concern about the recent increase in cases of domestic violence, emphasizing the need for individuals to work towards preventing such incidents and sharing their experiences.
She encouraged starting the change from the home and emphasized the importance of proper upbringing to avoid passing negative behavior onto children. She highlighted the role of individuals in building a better home and nation without solely relying on the government.
Meanwhile, the Principal of the school, Mrs Helen Olugbemi, highlighted that the program aimed to empower underprivileged women in society.
She emphasized the powerful and beautiful nature of women but noted that they are often underestimated and considered weaker than men in some societies, despite the crucial role they play in creating life.
