Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State, has promised that the ongoing construction of Emevor Road will be completed soon.
He also mentioned that the road will enhance socio-economic activities in the state.
He also praised Emorock Concept Limited, the company in charge of the project, for the amount of work completed so far.
Oborevwori made these comments while inspecting the construction/rehabilitation of Emevor-lvrogbo-Orogun Road (Phase 1) at Emevor town, in Isoko North Local Government Area, on Thursday.
According to a statement on Friday by ERCL Projects Director, Oghale Agelebe, made available to PUNCH online on Friday.
The governor was accompanied by the Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural), Charles Aniagwu, the Director, in the Ministry of Works Solomon Aragba, and other top government officials.
In his remarks, Oborevwori praised the construction company, calling it a reliable stakeholder in the pursuit of the MORE Agenda of his administration.
“I particularly acknowledge ERCL for ensuring that the Emevor road construction project will be delivered in due time, considering the extent of works so far accomplished at the moment. I am assuring you of the continued patronage by the Delta State Government.
“This company has established itself as a reputable entity within Nigeria’s construction sector, consistently delivering projects of exceptional quality and standards, dedicated to excellence, and earning its recognition as a reliable partner in the developmental efforts of Delta State.
“I am satisfied with the progress achieved by the company on various aspects of the projects, including the deep double drain on the shoulders of the road to ensure free flow of water, in order to promote flood control, quality of materials utilized, viable equipment alongside a highly experienced and diligent crop of engineers.
“I want to commend ERCL for its unwavering commitment to delivering projects within stipulated timeline while maintaining compliance with the highest quality standards. The importance of collaboration between government and private sector entities in driving sustainable development initiatives across the state cannot be overstated,” the governor said.
He added that the project would be delivered early, considering the extent of work so far accomplished.
The governor expressed his satisfaction with the progress achieved by the company on various aspects of the project, including the deep double drain on the shoulders of the road to ensure the free flow of water and promote flood control among others.
Oborevwori emphasized the importance of collaboration between government and private sector entities in driving sustainable development initiatives across the state.
On his part, the Odion of Emevor Kingdom, HRM Dr. John Holt Ologho, praised Oborevwori for the project connecting Emevor, lvrogbo and Orogun kingdoms.
He also requested the governor to establish a Central Hospital in Emezor to ensure his subjects have access to healthcare.
ERCL Projects Director, Oghale Agelebe, confirmed the company's commitment to maintaining a high level of professionalism in the handling and carrying out of engineering construction activities in response to the governor's praise.
